Nortons Park, Wantirna South

Nortons Park is on High Street Road, Wantirna and is one of Melbourne’s biggest off leash dog areas. It isn’t fenced but is surrounded by bushland which provides a natural visual boundary. It has public toilets and BBQ pavilion. Plenty of parking. Can walk from there on bush tracks to Jells Park or Shepherd’s Bush (on leash). Dog water bowls available, but BYO poo bags and there are no rubbish bins. Huge range of bird life but beware snakes in summer. Nortons Park is occasionally used by schools during the week for cross country running, ditto Little Athletics on some weekends but most dog owners just exercise their dogs away from the action.
